With 8,000 Approved, But Unbuilt, Housing Units, Does Albemarle County Need to Expand the "Growth Area" - ?
Albemarle County has made an effort to remain 95% rural. When you look at the numbers, below, of "approved" v. "actually built" houses and retail outlets, it doesn't seem like more land needs to be devoted to development. 16 years worth of residential approvals, 20+ years worth of retail space, by the calculation of one County Supervisor.
